Joe Autera, VDI’s President & CEO, to Present at the International Executive Protection & Secure Transportation Conference

Tony Scotti’s Vehicle Dynamics Institute is proud to be a Presenting Partner of the 2014 International Executive Protection & Secure Transportation Conference.

The 2014 International Executive Protection Conference, co-hosted by Executive Security International (ESI) and the Executive Protection Institute (EPI), promises to be a unique learning experience for professional security practitioners from across the full spectrum of security disciplines.

Picture of EPIC conference in 2012The goal of the conference is to provide participants with the insight and knowledge needed to anticipate, identify, and meet the security challenges faced by organizations and entities – ranging from multi-national corporations to non-governmental organizations and high net worth families –  whose business is transacted in legacy and emerging global markets.

The center of gravity for this groundbreaking conference is provided by the most recent work of noted author David Kilcullen, Out of the Mountains, The Coming Age of The Urban Guerrilla; a highly acclaimed study of the implications that rapidly expanding urban centers and diminished government influence and controls, hold for those who live, work, travel to, and operate in these environments.

Within this innovative framework, highly regarded subject matter experts – many of whom have firsthand experience dealing with the dynamic issues that today’s security professionals are facing as their role and responsibilities expand globally – will present on a wide range of interesting and relevant topics. Focal points of those discussion shall include:

  • Transitioning security programs from the traditional tactical-level, reactive paradigm to a more proactive and holistic strategic approach
  • Enhancing security’s contribution to near term and over-the-horizon business goals and objectives in the today’s global marketplace
  • Effectively managing crises related to workplace emergencies, terrorist, and catastrophic events at the local, national and global level.
  • Designing, developing, and validating business continuity- based contingency plans through table top exercises
  • The inherent value that security-related intelligence provides to businesses functioning in increasingly threatening, asymmetrical environments
  • Unique strategies for crime prevention in present and future high crime environments
  • Meeting the challenges that protection professionals face in staying relevant in an increasingly cross-cultural and information-driven world

Surveillance Detection a Practical Perspective

Surveillance Detection: a Practical Perspective

Recognizing that while the Solo Practitioner approach – where one protection practitioner is responsible for managing the wide range of risks their Principal may face – is not the optimum approach to doing so, it is in fact being effectively implemented far more often and successfully than many in the profession would care to admit, it’s worthwhile to take a closer look at the strategies and tactics which contribute to the effectiveness of the Solo Practitioner paradigm.
