The obvious answer is that you can’t. And whether you’re a professional driver or that guy or gal commuting to work, between the angle of the sun, all sorts of nasty weather, and the residue of various types of road treatments, just seeing through the windshield of your car can be a challenge; especially this time of year.
While we have seen and heard all sorts of talk about “miracle” glass cleaners and home brewed ways to get – and keep – your windshield clean, our experience shows that there really is no substitute for good ol’ fashioned elbow grease and the right tools for the job. With that in mind, here is an excellent video that offers some great tips on cleaning the exterior of your windshield.
But anyone who has spent any time behind the wheel, particularly when the temperature/weather requires the use of the windshield defroster, knows it’s not just about keeping the outside of the windshield clean. Because the best way to avoid a behind-the-wheel emergency, be it an everyday emergency such as a potential accident, or even a potential security incident, is to see it BEFORE it happens.
